While Colegio Ausias March attains remarkable results in all aspects of academic excellence as a Spanish school and through the Spanish language, in wishing to provide pupils with an essential preparation for the future, one of the main objectives of the school is that of ensuring that each pupil reaches a high level of proficiency in one or more foreign languages. English is the main target language, French or German the second language offered. The immersion system in foreign language acquisition used at the school means that all pupils on leaving at pre-university age can communicate with a high level of fluency in English and other languages and so gain a head-start for their future work and studies.
Colegio Ausias March is a pioneer school in the valencian community in the introduction of the concept of Immersion English in the general syllabus in its Primary section. |

The English Dept of the school is adapting the model of immersion from experiences in other countries and designing a syllabus that aims to maximise an input in English -within the context of a Spanish school -by introducing content-based learning into a scheme of a high percentage of the pupils´ timetable of lessons given in this foreign language for Infant and Primary levels. This model and the associated methodology is being tried and refined over time to be integrated and consolidated in the educational system of the school.
